Description: A short round trip flight from Lima will take you to the largest city in the world that cannot be driven to, Iquitos. Opportunities to see wildlife such as river dolphins and monkeys along the Marañon and its Yana Yacu-Pucate tributary as well as the local flora and fauna amongst the rich Amazon biodiversity here.  Enjoy a nocturnal tour to see the wildlife that only comes out at night.

Day 1: Iquitos, Nauta Boat ride up Marañon river, observing the pink and grey dolphins.

Day 2: Walk through the jungle and know about flora and fauna, fish for piranhas. Nocturnal tour on the jungle.

Day 3: Excursión in a boat and enjoy the variety birds and monkeys. Visit at Yarina Community.

Day 4: Walk deep into the jungle and discover the biodiversity of the amazon.

Day 5: Return to Iquitos City.

ITINERARY DETAILS

Day 1:

Iquitos, Nauta Boat ride up Marañon river, observing the pink and grey dolphins
First, we will visit Nauta a town Near the Pacaya Samiria National Park. Boat ride up the Marañon river reaching the Yana yacu-Pucate tributary. Take in the pink and grey river dolphins before reaching the INRENA checkpoint. We will stay in a house on the river’s edge and take a night excursion to see the nocturnal forest life. Lunch and dinner included.

Day 2: 

Walk through the jungle and know about flora and fauna, fish for piranhas. Nocturnal tour on the jungle. After breakfast, we will leave up the river and will take a walk through the jungle to get to know some of the flora and fauna. In the afternoon we will fish for piranhas and other fish such as the tucunare. In the evening we’ll take a canoe ride to find alligators and other nocturnal species. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

Day 3: 

Excursión in a boat and enjoy the variety birds and monkeys. Visit at Yarina Community
After breakfast, we will take an excursion in a boat to enjoy the huge variety of birds and monkeys only founded in the Pacaya Samiria National Park, then we will lunch on the boat. We’ll reach a local community ‘Yarina’ and will see the lifestyle of the inhabitants before spending the night in the village.

Day 4: 

Walk deep into the jungle and discover the biodiversity of the amazon
The day will begin with a walk deep into the jungle to discover the huge biodiversity of the Amazon. After lunch, we’ll begin our return journey and will spend the night in the small village of ’20 de Enero’.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 5: Return to Iquitos City

After breakfast, we’ll leave for Pacaya Samiria National Park-Nauta and will have lunch in a local restaurant. We’ll then travel back to Iquitos in time for any necessary airport transfers.

All clients for this tour should be in Iquitos at least one day before the beginning of the tour.
