ITINERARY DETAILSDay 1: (Dec 26, 2021) New Year Tours Peru. Lima.New Year Tours Peru is a program espcially design to see the best of Peru during the festive holiday season. Arrive to Lima and private transfer to your centrally located Lima hotel. Day 2: (Dec 27, 2021) City Tour LimaAfter breakfast, a full city tour of modern and colonial Lima, declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1991. Tour in an air-conditioned bus with a bilingual guide. The tour includes a visit to the Cathedral, Main Square, San Francisco Convent and its Catacombs, and the residential areas of San Isidro and Miraflores. Time for lunch in an international restaurant, strategically located and with a wonderful view of the Pacific Ocean. After lunch, a visit to the Gold Museum. Originally from a private collection, the museum houses numerous gold, silver, and copper artifacts from several pre-Hispanic cultures. The most precious piece in the collection is the solid gold Tumi (ceremonial knife) belonging to the Lambayeque culture (350AD). Return to your hotel. Free evening. Day 3: (Dec 28, 2021) Lima to Arequipa flight. Walking City TourFree morning. Afternoon flight to Arequipa, the most beautiful city in Peru. Transfer to your hotel. A brief overview of the “white city”, including the 16th-century convent which is built entirely of volcanic lava. The Misti Volcano stands as a sentinel behind this colonial city. Overnight accommodation at the hotel of your choice. Day 4: (Dec 29, 2021) Tour Arequipa & Colca CanyonAfter breakfast, we drive through some wonderful scenery towards the Colca canyon, witnessing groups of wild alpacas, vicuñas and guanacos in their natural habitat. Arrival to Chivay, the main town of the canyon in time for lunch. Transfer to your hotel, the Colca Lodge, located in the canyon itself. Free afternoon for personal leisure. Day 5: (Dec 30, 2021) Tour Colca Canyon to Arequipa Bus or private carAn early start to visit the Colca Canyon, the second deepest canyon in the world (the deepest canyon lies only a few kilometers from here). We shall also have an opportunity to see the huge condor, the world’s largest flying bird before returning to Arequipa. Overnight accommodation at the hotel of your choice. Day 6: (Dec 31, 2021) Arequipa to Cusco flight
Day 7: (Jan 1, 2022) Train Cusco to Machu Picchu. New Year Machu PicchuEarly morning Cusco hotel greeting and transfer to the train station for your train to Machu Picchu. You will be met by your guide to walk to the buses for the 20 min ride up to Machu Picchu. Buses run continuously and only stop at the top and bottom. Enjoy 2 hrs with your guide then have plenty of time to hike and explore the park on you own. Machu Picchu was probably an estate of the Inca Pachacutec, who also designed Cusco. It was a town with individual homes for nobility made in the classical Inca style with polished dry-stone walls. Its 3 three primary structures are the Intihuatana, the Temple of the Sun, and the Room of the Three Windows. The magnificence of this site is fully appreciated at sunrise. As the mist rises just after sunrise the site will appear slowly. Machu Picchu sits hidden amongst other spectacular surrounding mountains. When finished take one of the buses 20 min back down to Aguas Calientes and return to our hotel. Day 8: (Jan 2, 2022) Tour Machu PicchuOpportunity to return to the sanctuary for a more personal appreciation of the Eighth wonder of the world. Lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge Hotel located in front of Machu Picchu. Return in the afternoon by train to Cusco and transfer to the hotel of your choice. Day 9: (Jan 3, 2022) Tour Sacred ValleyFree day to relax. For those wishing to continue with their discovery of Peru, a full-day excursion to Urubamba, the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit the village of Pisaq, founded during Colonial times. On Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays the Indians barter their products, and artisans from all over the area sell their woven alpaca wool blankets and ponchos, engraved gourds, antique reproductions, and jewelry. On Sundays, it is also the meeting place for the local Mayors of the region, who come dressed in their traditional costumes, to attend morning mass. After buffet lunch at the Tunupa Restaurant, a visit to Ollantaytambo, the only Inca town which is still inhabited. Explore the ruins above Ollantaytambo before returning to Cuzco via the traditional market town of Chinchero. Return to your hotel. Day 10: (Jan 4, 2022) Cusco City TourAfternoon guided visit of the four ruins nearby. The Sacsayhuaman Fortress overlooking the city of Cuzco, a pre-Inca architectural masterpiece. Qenko, a rock sanctuary whose main attraction is the monolithic altar representing a puma. The red Fortress of Puca Pucara and Tambomachay, a beautiful fountain fed by a spring forming a series of basins continue to the city of Cuzco. The Main Square, the Cathedral and the Coricancha or Temple of the Sun. Dinner and folkloric show in the evening. Day 11: (Jan 5, 2022) Cusco to Lima flight. Depart LimaCusco hotel greeting and private transfer to airport in time for your flight to Lima and final destination. End our services. New Year Tours Peru.
